Psychopomp
For those preparing to cross over, psychopomp is the great work of becoming the Anam Cara, or Soul Friend, for spiritually aiding the death process. Having a 'good death' means finishing what needs to be done, saying what needs to be said, learning to transition out of one's body and being comfortable with the journey to the other side. Death is not a finality, not something to be afraid of, in fact - it's the biggest event of our lives - and something many cultures spend a lifetime preparing for. We currently live in a 'Death Denying' culture; generally we don't speak openly about death as a natural part of life, even when death is knocking on our door. This can lead to fear and confusion, especially when death occurs suddenly or tragically for both the community as well as for the soul making the Imramma ~ the Great Voyage
Psychopomp facilitates the soul of our beloved deceased or those currently dying with recognizing, readying for and accepting this process in a compassionate way. Sometimes our loved ones, or strangers, have experienced a sudden death or have a situation where the living are unable to allow the crossing over process to complete. This may manifest as feeling a presence in your home, or feeling a prolonged intense grieving process, or having interactions with a Spirit that isn't mutually beneficial.
